Referencing

We are going to be using Harvard referencing for this essay. This is a referencing style that uses the author name and year of publication within the text to indicate where you have to instead a source. Two types of citations are included: 1. In-text citations are used when directly quoting or paraphrasing a source. They are located in the body of the work and contain a fragment of the full citation. Depending on the source type, some Harvard referee in-text citation may look like this: "After that I lived like a young rajah in all the capitals of Europe…"  (Fitzgerald, 2004) . 2. Reference lists  are located at the end of the work and display full citations for sources used in the assignment. It would look like this: Fitzgerald, F. (2004). The great Gatsby. New York: Scribner. The reference list is used so the readers can locate the  original sources themselves. Each citation in a reference list includes various pieces of information including: 1. Interview with a physio therapist (Primary research)

I decided to do an interview with a physiotherapist as they know a lot about exercise and the problems that can arise if you don't do exercise. I wanted to do a open interview as I do not know anything about the technical side of being a physio so I don't want to create answers that could be wrong. Also I want to get an in-depth answer. The questions I chose were: 1. How many patients on average have health conditions that are directly linked to them being over-weight? 2. How do you usually handle the awkward scenario where you have to tell a patient that they are over-weight? 3. What kind of injuries have you seen that are caused by patients being over-weight? 4. What are common health concerns that are related to being over-weight? Link to voice recording: https://youtu.be/vYrq9KPHaQE Transcript- Sophie Husteden: "Hello, this is Sophie husteden and I'm joined by Sean Crinion. And physiotherapist under the NHS interview commenced." Sop...

Final idea

My final idea is to focus on the topic of the inactivity epidemic, and specifically how the school system is not setting up a good base for children to grow upon. My idea for the artefact is: 1. To create an app that will be used as a homework device. This app will show the child the exercises that they will have as their homework task, this will include videos and descriptions so that the child learns the correct form. There would be a variety of different exercises and sports, as to help the children find the exercises that they like. 2. To do a social media campaign that focuses on using competitions to get people to do exercise. This would be based on dance challenges that are popular on social medias. This could be on various different platforms, such as TikToc or Instagram. I think that my favourite out of these two is to create the social media campaign. I like this idea the best out of the two I came up with because it is quite open so I can go in lots of different dire...

Questions for the Physiotherapist

How many patients on average have health conditions that are directly linked to them being over-weight? How do you usually handle the awkward scenario where you have to tell a patient that they are over-weight? What kind of injuries have you seen that are caused by patients being over-weight? What are common health concerns that are related to being over-weight? What are some common health concerns that are related to being inactive? These are the questions that I have decided upon asking the Physiotherapist. I only chose 5 because I wanted to have a smaller amount but keep the conversation very open. I want it to be more relaxed than be specific, this is because it is such a big topic and I don't know the industry very well so I don't want to limit them by the questions I ask.

lecture notes: how to lay out the proposal.

Document made up of 4 things. 1.       Proposal 2.       Reference list (Everything you look at) EVERYTHING. Anything that we quote, look at, get influenced by.  3.       Bibliography, any other documentation that we have looked at.  4.       Appendix (if any), Where you reference your own research, i.e. surveys, interviews,  Work on the question, this is so it’s open enough that we can explore, but not too open where you have too many options to do. -         Why have you chosen this question?  -         Does it have a personal relation with you? -         What are your experiences with the issue already? -         Brief outline of what you hope to find out. -         Ref...
